Project stages:
· Earth-Mars analogy criteria for aerodynamic braking entering the atmosphere
· Earth-Mars analogy criteria for a Mars-Rover type vehicle
· Earth-Mars analogy criteria for a vehicle lighter then air (balloon)
· Earth-Mars analogy criteria for an aircraft type vehicle
-
- Earth-Mars analogy criteria for an aircraft type vehicle
- Earth-Mars analogy criteria for a cold gas propelled vehicle type (Mars Jumper)
The laws that describe the behavior of a vehicle designed for Mars exploration were calculated in Earth conditions. From the performances reached on Earth, with the help of similitude lows, there can be known the performance in real on Mars conditions. The deducted analogy criteria allow testing of exploration equipments to be tested in earth conditions, reducing greatly the experimentation costs. It is much more convenient to test the original vehicle in earth conditions and based on analogy criteria to calculate the performances on Mars then to build expensive installations that imitate the needed environment.
